The commonly used reinforcement methods for steel structures are as follows:

1. Pre stressing cable method:

2. Change the calculation chart:

Introducing changes to the calculation diagram, adding additional supports, adjusting load distribution, reducing the internal force level and force displacement of statically indeterminate structural supports, and reducing stress peaks.

3. Section reinforcement method:

Cross section reinforcement method is to use steel to reinforce components or along their entire length, and connect them into a whole to withstand a common force.

4. Remove the parts that need to be reinforced or repaired from the original structure:

When the structure is severely damaged or the original section bearing capacity is too small, it needs to be used for ground reinforcement or renewal. At this point, temporary support is required to fully unload the replaced components. At the same time, the stability of the entire structure is required after the replaced structure is removed.

5. Unloading steel bars:

Unloading steel bars is suitable for components and connections with significant structural damage or good stress conditions, and requires temporary reduction of their load. For some structures that mainly bear moving loads, such as crane beams, the movable load can be limited, which is equivalent to most unloading.

6. Reinforcement under load:

When the stress of the component (or connection) is less than 80% of the design strength of the steel, or when the component is not severely damaged (damaged, deformed, warped, etc.), use loading steel bars. At this point, in order to allow the newly reinforced components to participate in stress, it is sometimes necessary to take temporary unloading measures on the reinforced components.
